Unexpected Sundays

I love unexpected Sundays! 😀 We walked down Parramatta Road and experienced unexpected things! (Lots of phone pics today, wish I’d taken a better camera!)

We’ll begin with one of my favourite and most dilapidated buildings.

Moving on to a cool poster we found for a local hair salon.

Moving on to some interesting discoveries in a newly expanded second hand shop I think these photos speak for themselves …

WE WIN!

An exciting life

So much has been going on in our happy little household over the past week!

I’ll begin by letting you know that the Raffle has been extended at the request of Toni the organiser in order to let anyone who missed out on the Auction bidding to still have a chance on some of the Raffles. So the Raffle has been extended to midday Wednesday!

A little closer to home the routine for the year has been settling in, and I now walk home from work 3 nights a week, and go running 3 mornings a week. On the day off we head to Sydney Indoor Climbing Gym.

The most uncomfortable shoes I own …

We also managed a trip to the Art Gallery on Wednesday, thanks to their amazing Art After Hours program. It’s such a calming and inspirational place.

Often a little random too!

I have been knitting up a storm and finishing off some hats to match gloves that I made in previous years.

Nothing I can wear yet in the heat, but fun little projects none the less.

I hope your weeks are being productive and inspiring!

In which we go shopping with purpose

This weekend Spring finally felt like it had loosened the stranglehold of Winter. With the sun shining, and the earth feeling like it was waking up from a long night’s sleep, I felt the urge to spring clean the house, and prepare for party season!

So instead of clearing and cleaning, we began backwards and went to the local nursery!

Oh, and of course we’ll definitely need a water feature.

With a crocodile.

Next week, the hard yards of clearing space for the new acquisitions!

The Rocks

We spent the most wonderful day rediscovering The Rocks Markets. There is always so much to see and do there, it is a hubbub of colour,

excitement

and possibly a little pandering to the tourist dollar!

It has extended since last I was there, around the Argyle Centre and down Argyle St. (which has been blocked off to cars. How long has it been since I went to the Rocks?!?)

We managed to procure a few bags from one of my favourite designers Pretty in Pink. I think I’ll need to purchase some lounge pants and possibly a kimono from her before Summer really kicks in too! And her aprons are to die for!

It is a wonderfully creative market, and the emphasis this week was on designers and Summer fashions.

It was ridiculously inspiring and made me want to pull out my sewing machine again! (It’s been so long) But there’s something for everyone!

At the end of the day, when the hubbub threatens to overcome, you can always meander in the direction of some of the oldest pubs in Sydney.
