Not the God in the Machine, but the Motorbike Café on Parramatta Rd.
We ended up there for breakfast the other day. It had been several years since we’d been in, but they still have some beautiful pieces!
The food wasn’t half bad either!
So I’m involved in a couple of swaps at the moment on Ravelry, one of which has a “Gnome” theme. I thought I’d expand the theme a little and for the something small I’m going to send, I made some tiny toadstool stitch-markers!
Of course I documented the process for all of you lovely folks playing along at home!
First there was FIMO in red, white, and sand colours, and I used flat-ended jewellery pins.
On to the pins I shaped the toadstool stalk (I made as many as I had pins for)
then hood
and finally the tiny white dots.
Then it was into the oven for half an hour on 110C
Once out and cooled, I snapped off the excess wire, and used round-nosed jewellery pliers to bend the ends around and hold the closed jump ring.
Finished!
Somehow I don’t think I’ll give up my day job, but I do think they have a quaint and rustic charm! *grins *
Introducing friends to the White Cockatoo. (Yes, that’s 2 between 4. No, they weren’t finished.)
Visiting your Local Yarn Shop,
with Noro corner.
Finding an Oopmah Band celebrating Oktoberfest
Sausages and bacon for breakfast!
Indulging at the Lindt cafe with a brownie,
and an $8 chocolate shake.
As always, there was also plenty of time to indulge in a little movie quoting too!
Were you listening to me, Neo? Or were you looking at the woman in the red dress?
It seems odd to say it, but as much as I wanted to do a whole second post with pictures from the last Jurassic Lounge when I went back over them, they didn’t excite me.
Well, this one did. His names is Oscar.
And maybe this one. I love the colour!
And well … this is amusing. Museum staff obviously have a sense of humour!
PUKECKO! (and echidna butt)
So instead of posting more pictures from that night, I thought I’d just show you how I re-engineered that fudge recipe to be white chocolate and cranberries.
Basically I did everything the same, but substituted white chocolate for dark, and switched out the coffee for a handful of chopped up dried cranberries. Looks good, tastes like it needed to be cooked a little longer.
I think this is my new go-to/all-purpose fudge recipe! It’s so easily modifiable!
Also, have some proof that I do learn from my mistakes!
Perfection!
The opening ceremonies for Art and About this year kicked off on Friday night. We had been planning on going since seeing it advertised at the Art Gallery when we were there for the Mad Square Exhibit. Until I went to the A&A website I hadn’t realised just how many other venues would be hosting opening event entertainment as well! But we were determined to go to the Cabaret at the Art Gallery.
We started our afternoon in the growing wind and dropping temperatures in Martin Place where there was free music,
amongst the towering buildings
and the historic banks,
with free play-doh for all to enjoy!
When the wind got a bit too much for us, we headed off over the park through darkening twilight
to the Gallery,
which was swarming with people
and set up with some really comfortable looking lounges!
These guys were just incredible, and I wish I could have gotten close enough to get a decent photograph or two! But I am determined to hunt down a CD if it exists!
I don’t know about you, but I love sitting down to watch a show in the lobby of the Art Gallery of NSW and being presented with a man in suspenders.
Especially when it turns out I know him and he recognises me! *grins waves to Black Paul* I know all the best people! Means I can get good photographs for you guys too!
It had been a long day at this point, and though not late, we took this opportunity to farewell our friends and wandered our way back through my picturesque Sydney to a bus stop.
Until next time My Lovelies!
