The Lake District

There are odd, weird things that you miss when you move country. Things that, if you’d never left, you never would have eaten again. You wouldn’t miss them.

Whitby Goth Weekend

Part of the reason for going to Whitby was for the Whitby Goth Weekend.

Whitby

Located on the North Eastern coast of England in North Yorkshire, Whitby is a seaside town that clings to its cliff faces and serves some of the best fish and chips in the world!

It is known for being where a young Captain James Cook learnt his trade, and where the Endeavour was built in 1764 as a coal carrier. When she was bought by the British Navy she was re-fitted. Would you like to know more?

A weekend in Paris

One of the many wonderful things about Europe is how close everything is together. Relatively. Compared to Australia! When we randomly discovered that there was a gig on over Easter that we wanted to see down in Paris, we booked it, and jumped on a train! Four hours later, we were unpacking in our hotel.

Given that this was my second time in Paris, we decided that our best course of action was to see things that I hadn’t seen the first time around, but also that were open for the long weekend. This left us many options of things to see, while still giving us some focus of what we could to get in to. Would you like to know more?

Touching Base

I find that I have a compelling urge to do things that remind me of my past life in Sydney when I’m there. This trip one of the (many) things I was compelled to do was Wildlife World.
