Summertime is for Gardens

Now, we don’t have much garden space, apartment living does have the odd downside. While the weather has been as stunning as it has, we took our opportunity to go and spend some time in someone else garden. The Hortus Botanicus.

Noordermarkt on a Saturday!

I know, I know. You’re all thinking, “How can she write about the same market, in three consecutive posts?!?” But you’ll just have to trust me when I say that on a Saturday, it’s a completely different market!

Final Days

There are certain things which people see as quintessentially Amsterdam. Of course, when you’re being tour guide, you tend to take people to the things that call to them the loudest. In the case of N, his Mecca was and is, the Heineken Brewery.

From what I understand the brewery is no longer in this space, but the building is preserved now in the form of the “Heineken Experience”. Himself and I left them to this one while we went off to sit in a café and have cake!

Het Scheepvaartmuseum

There are so many beautiful and well thought out museums in Amsterdam, and I’m continually taken aback by the diversity and depth of knowledge available to everyone. In our most recent weekend exploration we headed out to the Scheepvaartmuseum! In English, this is the Maritime Museum. Given the breadth and depth of the Dutch maritime history, we knew this was going to be an amazing experience!
