Yes, I have done it again. I have completed my most recent large art piece.
A wonderful friend of mine very generously purchased me some gorgeous, luxuriant silk back in July last year.
I was determined to finish what I was working on before picking it up so that I could devote my entire attention to the soft pink cloud of silk.
What I was in the middle of at the time was the giant Estonian piece.
But with that successfully delivered to it’s new home, I was free to create from a pattern I had been dreaming of for a long time.
So without further ado, here she is, the Death of Shawls!
Isn’t she beautiful?!?
She is 1400m of pure mulberry silk, and possibly one of the softest things I have ever created, with the most amazing drape and fall across the shoulder when being worn.
I’m so enamoured with this piece! I can’t wait to wear her more often. Right now though I’m protecting her from the zippers in winter jackets!
In other news, she wasn’t such a good traveling piece, so I have also been working on some mittens …
… and I finally have a cardigan in the works that I have been planning for … an embarrassing amount of time really. I’m hoping it will be completed just as the weather hits the perfect wearing temperature.
So far, I appear to be on track!
So, what do you think? Do you like them? *grins*
Congratulations! The shawl looks lovely! 🙂
(I like the yarn for the mittens, too. Are you making up the pattern or following a model?)
Thank you!
The yarn is MadTosh, and I’m making it up as I go along 😉
Beautiful….as always
Thank you! *massive hugs*
That shawl is stunning! So delicate and such a beautiful colour!
Thank you Alison! And it was so much fun to make too! 😀
That shawl is just stunning. Wow. I love it.
Thank you very much! I’m just a bit proud of it! 🙂
