I powered my way through the Percy Shawl as I really wanted to be able to post it to itโs intended recipient as soon as possible. For no other reason than I really want to give it to her.
Because I can, here is Percy in photos!
Finishing
It always impresses me just how much lace needs to be blocked, and how little stitch definition you get before blocking.
Off the needles.
Soaking
All pinned out.
I feel terribly bad for having no posts lined up for last week when I suddenly got busy. I’ll try and do better in the future I promise!
Gorgeous! Or should I say Georgeous? ๐
:laughs: Yeah, I’m really happy with how it turned out!
The detail in that is just amazing! Wow. Well done.
Thank you! The wonders of working with silk. The stitch definition for lace is just wonderful!
“It always impresses me just how much lace needs to be blocked, and little stitch definition you get before blocking.”
Very true. I think I recall some wise person once saying that unblocked lace looked like an elephant’s butt impersonating a raisin… which is also apt. What I always forget is that lace seems to require occasional re-blocking to avoid a return to looking like something far less impressive than lace.
It looks lovely! Congrats on a beautiful finished product ๐
:grins: thank you!
Yeah, that quote was particularly apt when knitting the QAL in gray! ๐
love the lacy pattern and really love the colours.
You’re more amazing each time I see your yarn work.
Thanks! I’m really enjoying the one I’m working on at the moment too! ๐
