Sydney – Part 4

With Just a couple of days left to go in our Whirlwind Antipodean Tour we decided to go where everyone should go at least once in their lives (if not many, many times!), to Taronga Zoo.

We took a slightly circuitous route to get there though, going via Manly (back on the ferry) to dump our bags with the relos before heading out. And a grand day we picked for it too!

Taronga. Some things remain the same.

For the first time I think ever, I was interested in seeing and spending time with the native animals rather than the exotic ones!

Though some were less enthused than others with the spectrum of what “native animals” involved.

I love how laid back they all are in the heat of the day, not running around trying to see everything like us mad humans!

Though this guy didn’t seem to want his picture taken by Himself!

Before we knew it, our time was up. And all the playing and fun times were to be put on hold.

It was time to say our goodbyes.

Through two birthdays, nine sharks, one flood, all the family, countless friends, innumerable ciders, and I’m not willing to tally up flight hours … we were heading back home.

(For those with a want to know, that is one of the new Emirates Airbus 380s, and that is indeed the cockpit.)

Feels a bit like a dream really. But a wonderful, happy, wish-fulfilling dream where all our greatest desires were met. Thank you again D for making it all possible!

Regularly scheduled programming resumes next week with added visitors!

  1. Thank you for this post series! It’s been great to read about the adventures you had.

One thing this series of posts has impressed on me is how busy your trip must have been — the posts look active enough and to know that you made a selection for these from all the things you were doing? Very busy. Sounds like you might need a vacation at home to rest up after your vacation! 😀

    1. We do work to fit in as much as possible while still enjoying ourselves! Our feeling is that you have to make the most of the trip! But yes, I did kind of need a break after it was all over! Though of course, in that “break time” I wrote all these posts!

  2. Awwwwwwww so sad it’s over but I really enjoyed your pics. What kind of animal is in that first pic? So cute. Hope your journey back is safe and comfy. Xox
